| Dr. Frank Cerny |
Dr. Cerny Completed
undergraduate work at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Finished his PhD in Physiology, with a specialization in
exercise physiology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He
then spent two years doing post-doctoral work at the University
of Freiburg, Germany working at the Sports medicine clinic which
was responsible for advice on training and medical care for
German athletes. He returned to North America to teach for
several years at the University of Windsor, Ontario. In 1976 he
moved to Children’s Hospital of Buffalo to help establish the
Children’s Lung Center. In 1985 he moved to the Department of
Physical Therapy and Exercise Science at the University at
Buffalo. He eventually became chair of the Department of
Physical Therapy, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. He is an
award winning teacher. His research interests include helping to
understand the role of exercise in the treatment of diseases,
including cystic fibrosis, asthma and diabetes. In addition, Dr.
Cerny has helped numerous athletes from high school, Olympic and
professional levels develop training programs. Dr. Cerny is a
fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine and is on the
editorial board for Pediatric Pulmonology and ACSM’s
Health and Fitness Journal.

| Dr. Karl Kozlowski |
Karl Kozlowski, PhD, ATC,
is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Canisius College.
Prior to this position he was a Clinical Assistant Professor in
the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at the
University at Buffalo. A Certified Athletic Trainer, Kozlowski
has experience as a program director in a Commission on
Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)-accredited
athletic training program, as an NCAA Division I athletic
trainer, and as a researcher in the area of brain
rehabilitation. His teaching expertise includes wellness,
physical activity, exercise science, human motion, and athletic
injury and therapeutic exercise. Kozlowski obtained a doctorate
in rehabilitation science, a master’s degree in higher education
administration, and a bachelor’s degree in coaching sciences
from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

| Dr. Jon Metz |
Dr. Jon Metz is the
President and CEO of TriVault Inc. Jon is a USAT Certified Coach
and USAT Youth & Junior Certified Coach who has been
professionally trained as an educator to impart knowledge to
learners. He has experience with training and racing in all
distances from sprint to Ironman. What sets him apart from other
“coaches” is his ability, as an educator, to understand the
intricacies of teaching principles and methods. Through TriVault,
he coaches local groups and individuals, as well as athletes
across the United States. You can also find him conducting
various camps, clinics, seminars, and sessions. Recently Jon had
the opportunity to present on Power Meters, Heart Rate Monitors,
and Performance Testing with Karen Smyers, professional
triathlete and inductee to the USAT Hall of Fame.

Coach Mary Eggers |
Throughout Mary’s decade plus long triathlon career she’s set
several amateur course records, raced in elite categories,
secured overall wins at almost every distance, qualified for the
Hawaii Ironman three times and has enjoyed the honor of being
named a USAT All American several times. Because of her longtime
involvement in the sport, her solid reputation as a triathlete,
coach and human being, Mary is a positive ambassador for several
companies that have lent their support to her as an athlete. Read
about some of her accomplishments here as well.
Not
only is Mary an accomplished triathlete, she founded Train-This
Multisport Coaching.
Mary has coached over 100 athletes to Ironman finishes (100%
finisher’s rate) and had worked with athletes of all abilities.
In 2011 Mary sold Train-this to join the select and elite group
of coaches at QT2
Systems.
If
that weren’t enough…. Mary is also one of Western New York’s
most inspiring Yoga Teachers. Teaching Baptiste Power Vinyasa
yoga, Mary can be found at
Breathe
Yoga in Pittsford NY where
she also developed the Yoga for Athletes program used with the
Rochester Rhinos and several local sports teams.

This I!! Multisport series, is
a contributing writer for XTri and TriDigest,
and is the editor in chief for www.pat-wheeler.com
Married to one of Western New York’s top male triathletes Curt
Eggers, this dynamic duo is not only active in the
multisport community, but passionate about programs such as Lose
the Training Wheels, which helps children with special needs
learn to ride two wheel bikes. The Eggers’ are often found at
races competing as a family…. as their son is also a young
budding triathlete. |

Dr. Steve Gonser |
Steve Gonser,
PT, DPT
RUNSMART was founded in 2009 and has been serving runners
globally to improve run form and run performance. Each staff
member is a practicing physical therapist, expert on running,
and a runner at heart. Our analysis entails a 5 view
comprehensive approach to fast, efficient, and injury free
running. |
