No you do not. Please register as a non USAT member.
The race registration fee includes the one day license.
If you are registering on a team and are not a annual USAT

in your registration. If you don't we will email you to remind

What do I need to bring to packet pickup?
Everyone needs to have a valid photo ID. If you are a

photo ID. If you forget your photo ID we will ask you to

We will ask you to go get it , download
a temporary card from the USAT website or pull it up on your
phone. If you can't do any of those things you will have
to pay the additional $10 fee for the one day license.
Can I pick
up my friends or spouses packet?
Sorry you may not. USAT states
that all athletes must pick up their own packets in person.
If you are on a relay team, all member must be present to pick
up their packets together.

Site Aerial Overview to be aware of the places to be. Does the
swim start on the beach or in the water?
Update as of 8/10/11.
The swim start will be on the beach. We will be using a time
trial start. You will still be assigned to a wave.
One you are counted in we will alow two or three athlete to
enter the water after walking over the timing mats. All
F1 athletes first followed by all Sprint athletes. We
will place you in numeric order and send you on your way.
Are we swimming in the fast
current of the Niagara River?
No, most of the swim is in an area where the fast current
doesn't reach. The portion of the swim that does head
towards the current, but never reaches it, will be with the
current. This is a fast swim and the run to TA is
considered in your swim time.
Is this a deep or shallow water
swim? There are large
portions of the swim that you will be able to touch the
bottom. there are also portions of the swim that will
force you to swim. This course is designed for the
novice. That is why we offer the F1 tri. This is
for the athlete who wants a different challenge and not a a
sprint tri.
Are there weeds on the swim
course? Yes. The warmer
the summer is the more weeds there might be. We swim the
course in advance and place the buoys to stay out of the weeds
as much as possible. Some athletes even pull on the
weeds while they are swimming to help them obtain a faster
swim time. We are actively pursuing a dredging/cutting system to
remove the weeds from the swim route.
