It has been a while since......
...the lakes in the northeast had ice in or on them.
...we had an event where we could not wear a wet suit because the water was too warm.
...we shoveled snow off of our driveways and sidewalks.
...it has gone three days in a row without rain.
...we had someone ask if the swim was wet suit legal for this year. Oh wait, someone actually asked this past Sunday.
...we had a wedding proposal at the finish line. Will it be you this year?
...we heard our race announcer Mary Eggers on the mic.
...we told you that the Strassburg Sock Keuka Lake Triathlon is a great warm up for the Musselman Triathlon ( http://keukalaketri.com)
...we told you there are only 4 spots left in the doubleMussel
...we let you know to tell all of your duathlon only friends that we have two different distance races for this in 2019 so they can be part of the Musselman.
...since we share information for beginner multisport athletes: https://bit.ly/2wq8Gq1
...we reminded you that this event is only 45 days away and we hope that you are doing your part to train to be ready
...we reminded you about our crappy contest (see below)
...we reminded you that we have the best post race party juice of any race provided by Red Jacket Orchards.
...you were able to eat ice cream at a triathlon finish line area.
...we let people know about this: As part of our mission to support the youth of this community, we have once again pledged a donation in 2019. We hope the Mussel and the B&G Clubs share a long and positive relationship.
Other beneficiaries over the last five years have also included: CNY Sonrise, Chapter #429, Girl Scout Troops #40176, #40391, #40437, #40963, Presbyterian Church in Geneva, Foundation of the Geneva Public Library, Boy Scout Troop #4, Geneva Reads, White Springs Fire Police, Border City Hose Company, Varick Fire Department, Salvation Army, Geneva Police Benevolent Association, Ovid-Willard Lions Club, Waterloo Rotary - Camp Onseyawa, Yates Amateur Radio Club, Geneva Peeps, Trinity Church, Geneva Community Projects, Finger Lakes Zero Waste Coalition, Inc., North Seneca Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and the American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes.
....we share a link on our website about all of the stories about this event for the last 15 plus years:
Just a reminder to make sure if you belong to a club you let us know which one to be part of this contest. We will be announcing a crappy contest in the near future. If you have attended the prerace safety briefing you might be able to figure this one out. When you register for the 2019 race please make sure you select your club name because we will be using those for this crappy contest. Yes we know we said it twice. That was the point.
