Mussels, Candy Canes, and Yellow Snow part 2

Our athlete village is starting to fill up for 2017. If you didn’t know that we had an athlete village you are in luck. We offer two or three night stays in the Hobart William Smith dorms. You choose the arrival date. There are numerous room offerings in several configurations. Single, double, triple rooms are still available, but the quad rooms have already been filled. Don’t forget about the 6 person suites. Not only can you race together, but you can relive your college years all in one glorious weekend. Additional information about how to reserve these accommodations can be found here:

In 2010, Musselman first staged microMussel (µMussel because we're into tiny), a Super-Sprint triathlon the likes of which you'd not seen before. Returning in 2017 and again held Friday evening, µMussel features an absurdly short distances over a closed, spectator-friendly course through Geneva's Lakefront Park. Bring some friends. We promise you will have the time of your life. Warning: laughing too hard during this event will cause your core to become tired for both Saturday and Sunday’s races. Participants must ride an unmodified children's tricycle (with or without bell) or Big Wheels for the bike portion. A panel of biased and bribed judges reserves the right to disqualify egregious entries. More info:

The Formula 1 Duathlon is staged on one of the most historic and well-known race tracks in the country. Watkins Glen International hosts the only NASCAR event in New York State and has its roots in Formula 1 racing. Our Formula 1 race at The Glen is a run-bike-run-bike-run duathlon taking place on Porsche Clash weekend. We take the track following the event with Pit Row serving as transition. Adding to the event in 2017 is the Classic Du - run-bike-run duathlon on the same legendary course. A One of a Kind Event! The race starts at 6:00pm. There will be ample warm-up time on the track while our Pit Crew jumps over the wall to set up transition. “Let me start out with one single statement. This was a freakin' awesome event... pulling out of the staging area and turning down the front straight of one of the world's most famous racetracks - while perched on a bicycle - gave me goosebumps. The track was FAST. And NICE. Big, HUGE, wide sweeping banked corners. Nice descents and a few nice climbs.” Arrive early to watch the Porsche Clash Races!!! Get all of the details here:

Don’t forget that this is new for 2017. Every year we try to find a shirt color everyone likes. Every year we get suggestions on the color that we should have use for our design. One year we had a suggestion on which colors to use for the next 5 years based on an athletes skin tone. While we loved the suggestions we also need it be more practical. We could not decide which shirt color we liked for 2017 design so are leaving it up to you. You choose your shirt color during the registration process from the colors that we are offering. If you are looking for a specific color make sure you register earlier before supplies run out. As of right now blue and orange are leading the way. It’s up to you to make the right choice!!!

Follow us on social media to get updates more often than the Musselman News. We promise that the Mussels won’t hurt you. If you aren’t a fan of any of our social media platforms you should really check it out. This is where we have been known to hold contests to give away a free entry or two or at least a coupon code to receive a reduced entry fee. Our most recent contest was, “Tell us your top 5 reasons why you chose Musselman in the past or present.” We received 386 comments. We were overwhelmed with all of the awesome comments. We not only gave away a free entry, we also awarded two other athletes with a $20 coupon code as a thank you. Speaking of contests do you remember the Musselman Limerick Contest? Check out all of the entries that we had for #tbt in 2016 -
